Q: Rick, how long have you worked in the lineman industry

A: I have been working in the lineman industry since 1999

Q: What is your background in the lineman industry?

A: I started in 1999 at Jack Stewart Training Center Washington Water Power. Between 2000-2003 I was Indentured into the Mountain States Line Constructors Apprenticeship. In 2003 I became a Journeyman Lineman (Construction Lineman), and from 2003 to 2022 I worked as a Rocky Mountain Power lineman, thumper operator, and trouble-man.

In January 2013 we started Dry Canyon and we are still going strong.

Q: Where are you from? Do you have any kids?

A: I live in Holladay, Utah. We have 3 boys 8, 10, 14

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I love the outdoors and being in nature, spending time with friends, and lineman rodeos. I also enjoy Jiu-Jitsu.

Q: Do you have any achievements?

A: After 9 years of training Jiu Jitsu I was awarded my Black Belt Oct. 2022 by Carlson Gracie Jr.

Q: Why do you think having fire-resistant clothing is so important for workers?

A: Having fire-resistant clothing allows companies and workers to be in line with regulations and compliant with OSHA rules; which require workers to have fire-resistant clothing to protect them from getting their clothing ignited. Clothes made out of self-extinguishing material are there to protect workers.

Q: What do you feel are the benefits of a managed apparel program?

A: Incorporating the managed apparel program has helped us develop a feeling like a division of the companies we work with. Through the managed apparel program we are able to help relieve a lot of stress from the process that most organizations would have. People are getting the protective clothing they need from Dry Canyon.

Q: Is the Inventory on the Dry Canyon website accurate and up to date?

A: Inventory on the Dry Canyon website is accurate and provides an accurate representation of the fire-resistant clothing we have in stock. We also make sure to provide multiple options as well, if a product is sold out.

Q: Do you mostly work with companies in Utah or all over?

A: Dry Canyon works with a variety of companies all over the United States.

Q: What types of companies do you usually supply protective clothing to?

A: We work with linemen, oil and gas, and pipeline businesses.

Q: How long does it take until an order is sent out?

A: 90% of Products are usually shipped within 3 days
