The charcoal version of this same Vernon jacket has been a favorite of ours since it was released a few years ago. It's damn near waterproof, very wind-resistant, but not too hot to work in. We run with a fleece vest underneath during the coldest parts of the Utah winters. It's a great all around 3 season jacket. It is an athletic cut, shoulders and chest are what you would expect, but the waist is a tighter fit than a typical winter jacket if you enjoy the big boy sodas.

It’s more like a durable windbreaker
That said, after having used it a couple days the arm Velcro cuff tore, and I don’t remember it getting hung up on anything. Not all that warm. But I put my hoodie on under and it keeps the wind out and seems pretty tough. I do wish I got it a size bigger. I usually wear a large in ariat everything, so I went with a large but with having to layer things under for warmth, I wish I had gone with a size up.
